Kerela on board the houseboat. The houseboats were traditional
country boats, which used to carry cargo through the backwaters
of Kuttanad region, located below the sea level.
Relish the splendid moments of honeymoon in Kerela while
spending the memorable time in the houseboats, swaying
over the backwaters of Kerela. The houseboats have one
or two bedrooms, attached bath and kitchen etc.. The honeymoon
tour to Kerela includes houseboat cruises during daytime
through the scenic narrow canals and lakes. Meals are
prepared on board and the cruise includes visits to villages,
paddy fields and interesting monuments. You will get the
opportunity to witness the village life and culture at
close quarters.
Day 1 Cochin
Arrive Cochin. Meet and assistance at the railway
station / airport by our representative and transfer
to your hotel. Half day sightseeing by boat visiting
the Dutch Palace, synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets,
St. Francis Church, Bolghatty Palace etc. Overnight
at Hotel.
Day 2 Allepey
After breakfast, proceed to Allepey (65 kms - 1 ½
hours), which is the centre of backwater cruises in
Kerala. Board in houseboats, sightseeing and cruise
to Kumarakom. Traditional Kerala food will be served.
Overnight in the Houseboat.
Day 3 Kumarakom
Arrive Kumarakom and proceed to Munnar (155 kms -
4 hrs.). Check into your hotel. Evening, sightseeing
and overnight at Hotel. Munnar is a beautiful hill
station on the Western Ghats at about 1600 meters
above sea level. There are lakes, reservoirs, forests
and several tea estates. Anamudi, the highest peak
in South India is nearer to this place.
Day 4 Munnar
Spend the entire day at Munnar visiting important
places like Pothamedu, Devikulam. Pallivasal, Attukal,
Mattupetty etc..
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5 Periyar
Early morning, depart for Periyar (Thekkady) - 110
kms / 3 ½ hours. On your way, you will be visiting
Idukki Dam. Arrive by noon. Check into your hotel.
Evening free for sightseeing.
Overnight at hotel.
Periyar wild life sanctuary is one of the largest
wildlife reserves in India, which is more popular
as a tiger reserve. A boat ride on the splendid Periyar
Lake is the best way to experience the sanctuary.
It is also famous for tea and cardamom plantations.
Day 6 Periyar
Complete day at Periyar, visiting Periyar wild life
sanctuary Murikkady, Pandikuzhi, etc. Boat cruises
on the Periyar Lake. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 7 Kovalam
After breakfast, proceed to Kovalam ( 270 kms - 6
½ hrs). On your way, sightseeing of Trivandrum,
the capital City of Kerala. Check into your hotel
and overnight at Kovalam.
Day 8 Kovalam
Spend the day at Kovalam, enjoying the beaches. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 9 Trivandrum
Transfer to Trivandrum to catch your flight / train.
